Yes, the [BACKUP] feature will transfer images from the camera’s internal memory to a removable flash memory card. It does not, however, delete those images from the internal memory. To perform a backup, insert an xD-Picture Card flash memory card into the camera. With the mode dial set to any shooting mode except [GUIDE], press the [MENU] button. Use the arrow pad to select [SETUP], and then press the [OK/FUNCTION] button. Use the Up or Down arrow to select [BACKUP]. Press the Right arrow to advance to the next menu. Use the Up or Down arrow to select [YES]. Press the [OK/FUNCTION] button to start the file transfer. The backup procedure takes some time. If battery power runs out while the camera is performing a backup, image data may be lost or damaged.
