Yes, the [BACKUP] feature will transfer images from the cameras internal memory to an xD-Picture card. It does not, however, delete those images from the internal memory. To perform a backup, insert an xD-Picture Card into the camera and turn it on. Press the [OK/MENU] button. Press the Right arrow on the arrow pad to reach the settings menu. Press the Down arrow to access the Memory settings menu. Press the Right arrow to access the settings. Use the Up or Down arrow to navigate to [BACKUP]. Press the Right arrow to advance to the next menu. Use the Up or Down arrow to select [YES]. Press the [OK/MENU] button to start the data transfer. The backup procedure takes some time. If battery power runs out while the camera is performing a backup, image data may be lost or damaged. It is recommended that you use the optional AC adapter or fully charge your battery before performing a backup.
