CAN I MOVE AND CONTINUE TO RECEIVE SECTION 8 RENTAL ASSISTANCE?
A family’s housing needs change over time with changes in family size, job locations, and other reasons. The voucher program allows families to move without the loss of rental assistance, as long as the families properly notify MHA, terminates its existing lease within the appropriate provisions and finds acceptable alternate housing. A family that wishes to move outside the MHA jurisdiction must consult with MHA to verify the procedures for moving.
