Can I model a bridge with prestressed box beams and cast-in-place deck?
As of V14.1.0, the bridge modeler does not have a designated bridge deck section for prestressed box beams with cast-in-place deck. However, you could still utilize the bridge modeler to develop this type of bridge as follows: (1) Use bridge modeler to create the geometry of the bridge using either the “Precast I Girder” or “Precast U Girder” bridge deck section. Define the I and U girder section to have the same section properties as the box girder – this can be achieve by using the property modifiers. (2) Update the linked bridge model and replace the I girder (or U girder) section by the desired box girder section. (3) Please note that if you need to update the linked bridge object again, you would need to change the girder section assignment to the box girders after the update.
