Can I mix unfinished wood species and achieve a satisfactory appearance?

0

As long as a timber is moderately durable or better, or is treated with an appropriate wood preservative, it can be left unfinished when used for cladding, and a mix of timbers can be used on the same facade. All timbers left unfinished will turn a silver grey colour. The appearance of differences in grain pattern between species may be overcome by grouping timbers together, using the height or length of the building and/or by separating them on different elevations.
