Yes, they should do just fine together. Especially since you will have a group big enough for them to school properly, they’ll be less inclined to mess with small shrimp – and full-size Amano and cherry shrimp will be too large to warrant their attention. However, the baby red cherry shrimp might get eaten by the tetras – in my tank, juvenile cherry shrimp were seen as potential food items by my neon tetras after being introduced to the tank. Juveniles are too big to be swallowed whole, but they could be killed from bites – and babies could be eaten in one go. For this reason, it’s very important to have a lot of plant cover that the babies can hide in. Hornwort is easy to grow and very bushy and will work well for this pupose. With cover for the young, the babies should grow big enough to avoid being fish food.
