If you place a player that’s on the IR into your IR spot, he will not count towards your maximum roster size. You can make transactions as you normally would. Once a player is officially activated, you have the option of moving him out of the IR spot. If you don’t you will still be able to make transactions as normal, and he will still not count against your maximum roster size while he’s there.
