Can I make chocolate frosting out of a plain cream cheese frosting?
Well, I guess it’s too late now, but maybe for next time: Chocolate buttercream frosting is INSANELY easy to make, and instead of buying frosting next time, just get some powdered sugar. Melt approx. 1/4 cup of butter. Add 3/4 cup of powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa (sifting it is best). Mix well, then add 1/4 cup of milk. Add enough powdered sugar to make it into frosting consistency, and there you go. If you don’t have powdered sugar, then melt 2 cups of chocolate chips in the microwave with 1/4 cup of butter and 1/4 cup of milk. When the chips are pretty soft, but you can still see the shapes, mix it together — the chips should melt as you mix, or you can pop them back in the microwave for a few seconds. Pour this on top of the cake, right in the middle. It should spread out and drip down the sides, making a lovely and very classy chocolate glaze. Chill the cake (a cool room will work), and if you have some fruit, serve some fruit on top (strawberries, yum!).
