Can I make beef stroganoff with top round steak?
I just did a simple search and found beef stroganoff recipes using top sirloin, chuck roast, hamburger, and round steak… so really any beef will work. I have always used round steak but just be careful to not overcook the round steak or it can get tough. I cut it into strips and when I brown them, I undercook them a little so that they are still a bit pink inside. Then when they are added to the other ingredients and simmered, they will continue to cook and still be tender. Sources: my fabulous cooking skills!
