Can i legally wear a private detective badge while process serving if i have the cert in Illinois?
if you are acting as an agent of a court, you should not, as the position indicates that your authority comes from the court, which is not what your badge indicates if you are doing private service, such as notices to vacate, from a landlord, or notices of lawsuit between parties, it would be okay, but not necessary to wear any badge, and may keep you from getting service completed (element of surprise is often your friend when serving the difficult to serve).
