Can i keep 2 dwarf hamsters in a hamster play pen?
No. For several reasons. Syrians may find it easier, yes, but dwarf hamsters may climb. They will definitely find a way somehow. You won’t be able to give them a very enriching life if you can’t have any toys in the cage that aren’t taller than the walls of the play pen. They will need a wheel and chew toys and they would be an excellent way for them to climb out. Also, a hamster needs a sheltered home. This means they will need a roof for their cage and they will also need to be out of a draught. This is why “traditional” barred cages aren’t really favoured by many hamster owners now.
