its your right to be a member of a trade union some employers will encourage it while others will make you life a living hell , firstly contact siptu and ask them what trade union covers you field theres a lot of them , secondly be open with your boss about it , if you keep the whole thing secret then that will cause major problems but however if it isnt something your boss want you to do then dont , these little in fact no work out there , its not the time to start rocking the boat , management will always find reason to sack some1 they dont want so for now concentrate on protecting your job
