Can I install SMSMon on a network file server?
Ans: Yes. SMSMon can be installed on a network file or application server. Note, however, that the current version of SMSMon (v1.4 as at 7th Dec, 2004) DOES NOT run as a service. If you install it on a server, the server must remain logged on (to maintain security, you can lock the server workstation). Only applications designed to run as a service (with default or user-specified security credentials) will continue to run if a server is logged off. SMSMon is due to redesigned to run as a service.
