Can I install a non-TSOd unit in my certified airplane?

Maybe. Approval is determined by your PS Engineering dealer who will work directly their local FAA FSDO. When a part is not approved by the TSO, PMA, or STC process, the part is unapproved. Only can the FAA can approve a non-approved part for installation in a certified aircraft.
