Can I install a diesel engine in my 1999 Chevrolet S-10 Sportside pickup?
The early S-10s were sold with small 2.2 liter Isuzu diesels so, presumably, you could buy the hardware from Chevrolet and everything would fit but it would probably be an expensive project. They never sold very well as the diesel models were grossly underpowered for the weight class. Of course you could always try to shoehorn one of the bigger GMC diesels in there but that would be a real project in terms of money and engineering.
