Normally, AxCrypt files will display the .axx extension or not, depending on your global Windows settings. This behavior may be changed by modifying the Windows registry. AxCrypt does not implement any configuration settings to keep things simple, but if you really want this, two registry files are included in the distribution to make it easier for you. They are named AxCrypt-HideAxxExtension.reg and AxCrypt-ShowAxxExtension.reg respectively, and are located in the AxCrypt ‘etc’ directory which usually is “C:\Program Files\Axon Data\AxCrypt\etc”.
