Can I have a summary of chapter 3 of The Witch of Blackbird Pond?
dymatsuoka eNotes Editor Kit arrives at the Wood house with Captain Eaton, who teases her about being mistaken for a witch before he leaves. After meeting her surprised Uncle and his family, Kit reveals that, as her grandfather has died and all his possessions have been sold to pay his debt, she has come to stay. She did not write them ahead of time because she was afraid they would have said no. Her Uncle agrees that she must stay with them, as she has no other living relatives, but admonishes her that she should have asked first. The chapter ends with her Uncle expressing his concern about how Kit, who has had quite a different life as evidenced by the seven trunks she has brought with her into their austere home, will fit into Puritan life in New England.
