Can i have 2 ADSL internet service providers trough 1 BT phone land line (United Kingdom)?
To answer your question is NO, you can only have have one ADSL broadband on one BT line. However, you don’t need a second ADSL internet. Internet access in a home/office can be share among as many users as possible. I am an IT engineer , I have set up one Bt ADSL for all the staff to use (ranging from 10 -200). The only reason we have two ADSL from two different provider is for backup if one ISP fails (ISP failure is not common but it happens once in a while…and the office cannot afford even 5 mins downtime) so we pay for another ADSL ISP we don’t use as backup. The solution is to share the BT ADSL internet you have with a router. BT router nowadays support both wireless and wired connection. You can use a wireless connection for all the computers in the house and everyone is happy. if you need more advice on wired ….let me know how I can help.
no for one virgin is a cable line through fibre optic cables and does not go through a bt phone line, you cannot have two adsl connections through one line you could have one adsl and one dsl(cable) as they would be on separate lines as they use different technologies virgin does not use a phone line and offer an internet only package which would actually turn out cheaper than having a second phone line as there would be no line rental on top of broadband costs
