Can I hand my dissertation in early?
Yes, you can do this. You need to bear in mind, however, that the marking of the work takes place at three times of year (at the end of each trimester) to tie in with the three exam board dates (immediately after the end of each trimester). If you hand your work in early, it is most likely that it will not be marked until after the next submission date, and your viva will not take place until the time that the other vivas are being held, i.e. in the period immediately after the submission date. You should also ensure that an early submission is not a premature submission: in the past students have failed the module at first attempt because they have rushed to finish their work for an early deadline and submitted work against the advice of their supervisors. If you plan to hand your work in early, please check with your supervisor as to whether or not it actually makes sense to do so.
