Can I hand-deliver the specifications over to PaCS?
Please don’t do this unless you’ve coordinated the purchase through your bookkeeper or stores person beforehand. You need to work with whoever prepares requisitions for your department because they understand what is needed in order to make the purchase move along smoothly. They ensure that we have Ship-To and Buyer Codes, Index Numbers, Work Order Numbers, a bidders list, sole source justification, Property Disposition Request (PDR) and other supporting documentation. Sometimes end-users walk over their specifications hoping that PaCS can place an order or Invitation to Bid immediately. What usually happens is that the purchase takes even longer than if it went through the right channels. Once the requisition has been prepared and all supporting documentation is included, please feel free to walk the requisition over to PaCS. This doesn’t mean we aren’t willing to discuss the purchase with you prior to getting the requisition.
