Sorry, but no. In the army a lot of the mechanics and engineers actually have to go into combat situations. Mechanics are the ones that go get flipped over vehicles that were hit by IEDs. The air force is probably the same way except with planes. The air force does not really actually design and build the planes. Boeing, Ratheon, Lockheed Martin and other similar air plane companies take care of that.
