Can I glue a wood floor directly onto vinyl tiles?

No, please do not stick to tiles. The only type of wood that requires sticking down, is a solid wood floor as they expand and contract at a very high rate, sticking them down is to limit the amount of movement and prevent the wood from buckling. This is designed to be a permanent installation, if the tiles come loose, which they will eventually, your wood floor will come along with it! If you do not wish to uplift the tiles, then buy an engineered floor, which can be floated, IE joints click / snap locked, and sitting on an underlay and damp proof membrane. this is much better suited if your floor is slightly uneven too, as with a stuck down wood the sub floor needs to be perfectly level, and should have an epoxy resin damp proof applied to the floor first, otherwise, moisture rising through concrete will cause the joints to blow!! in terms of the feel, there really is no difference, only thing with a solid floor is they can be sanded down more times, but the chances of you ever doing
