Sure. Like all industries, the cement industry has had to keep pace with the higher demands of increasing technology in terms of products and the delivery/application of those products. New or better products, such as light-weight or slow-cure concrete, can compete as substitutes for other materials in the construction field. And better delivery methods, such as pre-cast or pumps, can make concrete a viable material under conditions that it might not otherwise be useable. The concrete industry has also been dramatically impacted by demand from China due to it’s recent industrialization. There has also been recent consolidation within the industry – always interesting. All in all, it’s a pretty dense subject!
