The actual “work permit” is not given to an alien until he is admitted at a port of entry. It cannot be obtained in India. If that petition is approved, you can apply for a visa. If the visa is issued, you can come to the U.S. and apply for admission. If you are admitted, you will be given an I-94 (work permit).
