John Nienstedt and Kyle Stauffer were laid off last month from their engineering positions at a defense contractor. Today they waited in line for a bit of help with their resumes. “I just assume another set of eyes would help,” Stauffer, 32, said. The resume review service was one of 72 booths set up today at the Allentown Fairgrounds by CareerLink of the Lehigh Valley as part of Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell’s push to assist the state’s many displaced workers. “It was a little scary,” Stauffer, a mechanical engineer said. “And a little surprising.” Both men worked for Science Applications International Corp. in a New Jersey office that was shuttered in late May. Nienstedt, 37, an electrical engineer, said the job hunt has been slow. He was looking for potential employers this morning.
