Can i get sacked whilst claiming ssp?
You must send in to your employer form MED1 (White sick note form) from your doctor who will advise why you need to refrain from work and the length of time he/she thinks you will need to refrain from work for. (You will need this form to sign you off from SSP when the time comes for you to return to work) This note will give a basic explanation of why you cannot work. Your employer has got the right to ask for a more detailed explanation in the form of a medical statement, which if requested, your doctor will charge you for it.
