Can i get pregnant eventhough my menstrual period haven return yet?
Yes. For the first 6 months post partum, if you have’t had a period yet and are exclusively BFing, your odds of pregnancy are extremely low (around 1%). However, after 6 months, the odds of having a fertile cycle before your first period go up … and by 14 months BFing is no longer at all reliable as birth control. ETA: To correct something Kim said — the ‘average’ time for return of menses in a fully BFing mother is about 9 months — meaning half of all mothers are still not menstruating at 9 months. And it isn’t at all unusual for a woman to have no periods until baby is fully weaned, even if baby nurses for 18-24 months or more. So, unless there are pregnancy symptoms, there is no need to test or worry about the lack of periods at 14 months.
