Can I get hepatitis, gonorhea, syphilis or any other STD from being rimmed and fingered?
Answer Hello Dean, Thanks for your question! The drop of blood may have been from a tiny scratch or scrape. Fingering can be quite fun as long as it is done gently, slowly, and with sufficient lubricant so that it doesn’t hurt. Sometimes saliva (from rimming) may be used as a lube, however it may have some infectious germs in it, but nonetheless does not seem to be a chief cause of STD transmission, even with those germs! If you had an inflammation of hemorrhoids, or an anal scratch or fissure, this could have also caused the pain and possibly bleeding. Regarding hepatitis, we are talking about the two that are vaccine preventable: hepatitis A (from rimming mostly or eating contaminated raw seafood or other uncooked food from an infected food handler), or hepatitis B (from contact with blood or infected semen or other bodily fluids).
