Can i Get 2 Syrian Hamsters ?
You cannot under any circumstances keep two Syrian hamsters, no matter their gender. The pet shop probably keeps babies or young litter mates together which is why they don’t fight. Once Syrian hamsters reach sexual maturity (at about 5 weeks of age) they will fight ruthlessly and will often fight to the death. Syrian hamsters always fight other Syrian hamsters– relatives, girls with girls, and boys with boys. Age isn’t a factor, either. Syrian hamsters will fight once they hit about 5 weeks of age. If you want more than one Syrian hamster, each one will have to have its own cage.
