Can i freeze lasagne before baking it??
Absolutely! This is a great way to have a meal at the ready. When you are preparing the lasagna, make a double batch and freeze one. Do everything you normally do in making your lasagna up to the baking step. Wrap it tightly (if using plastic wrap under foil – be sure to take it off before baking!!), label it with the date, pop it in the freezer, and it’s ready to go when you are ready. Ideally, take it out to defrost before baking it, but if you forget, just bake if for longer, covered with foil for the first part, then take off the foil to brown the top.
Sure you can……just be sure to wrap it in a double layer of aluminum foil and seal it well to protect it against freezer burn……defrost it in the refrigerator overnight before baking, or the top and sides will be overdone before the middle has even had a chance to start cooking……. I know that you’re probably wondering, “Christopher, they have frozen lasagnas that are oven ready” Yes, these are specially partially cooked and flash frozen……they’re specifically made to go from freezer to oven to table…..Enjoy!!!
