Dated: 20 Feb 2009 Background information and description of procedure This procedure outlines the process in which an officer should apply for approval/continuation if they are about to embark on a Business Interest within the meaning of Police Regulations. If a police officer or a relative included in his / her family proposes to have or has a business interest within the meaning of Police Regulations i.e. any office of employment, including Volunteer Reserve Forces or charitable bodies and other voluntary roles, the officer must apply for approval. Applications to pursue such interests will be made by forwarding a report outlining the nature of the business interest, any possible conflicts of interest and the approximate number of hours that will be dedicated to the business interest per week.
