The typical American hotel room contains two double (or queen) beds, a modern full bathroom, and air conditioning. A family of two adults and one or two children can usually fit into this configuration, perhaps asking for a rollaway bed for one child. It’s not paradise (especially for the parents), but it suffices. For a few dollars more a traveling family in America can stay at an all-suite hotel chain in relative comfort and privacy. This American model hardly applies to the British hotel industry and it is often difficult to find modern, family accommodations in much of Britain.
