Unfortunately, after you beat the gym leaders for the first time, you are unable to battle them again. While this is true in Pokemon Diamond, in Pokemon Emerald, you are able to re-battle the Gym Leaders. Also, in Pokemon Diamond, you are able to re-battle the Elite Four as many times as you want, and on Saturdays and Sundays, you are able to battle your rival once a day, but as many days as you want.
