While nothing specifcally addresses this activity in the Municipal Code, one can be cited for littering if such a burden is caused to the City’s Maintenance crews. You may want to contact the Police Department for more information. In any event, we prefer that the “feeding” of birds occur away from restaurants and take-out businesses. Birds can cause quite a mess, and have been known to snatch food off of one’s plate. Therefore, we ask that you be kind to eateries and their patrons by feeding birds in an open portion of the Pier.
