Can I fade, split and repair errors in MP3 files?
There is an excellent utility, called MP3Trim Pro (pictured in Figure 3.6). This program will repair bad frames, strip garbage and other useless data from the MP3 file. Corrupt or invalid frames are usually deleted. NOTE: If the MP3 file is badly damaged, the garbage is still audible at the corrupt sections of the file. One important feature of MP3Trim Pro is that it can fade-in/out and amplify MP3 tracks without re-compressing the MP3 file (see Section 3.0.1 for details). Often the MP3 file is prematurely truncated due to an incomplete file download. MP3Trim Pro can fix this problem by applying a fade-out effect on the audio.
