Can I extend the oil change interval with MotorSilk®?
The primary benefit of superior lubrication protection is the reduction of friction (65% to 70%) in combustion engines and 80% to 85% on surfaces. This results in less wear (90%) and consequently a significant reduction in the generation of microscopic metal wear particles. Normally, there are up to 100 million PPM 1 to 5 micron size metal particles in the engine oil following 3000 miles of driving. These particles are the major cause of premature oil breakdown. This occurs due to excess heat retention as well as chemical reactions which form acidic compounds that further oxidize the oil. The near elimination of these particles together with the superior first line defense of the MotorSilk® solid lubricant allows oil change intervals to be extended a minimum two times as a result of the slow oxidation process.
