Can i extend my student visa to start my studies in april even when my current student visa expires in feb?
As far as I know, the expired visa is not a problem. The visa is nothing more than a permission from the American government for you to fly into a port of entry. From then on, it is up to the immigration officer and then later to the INS and your school. If you did not break the conditions of your stay as a student and you have a valid student status, you’re fine. As long as you’re enrolled in a full-time course of study, you are here as a non-immigrant student. Now, you have to talk to the people at your university who deal with international students to ask about keeping your legal status. If you’re not a full time student while school is in session, you may lose your status. Make sure you’re taking classes, on OPT, or something else. But please, talk to the university to make sure everything is ok and to know if you need to do anything else.
