not ideal if you do a very hard upper body workout then you need to rest those muscles for at least one day, if your wanting to do a cardio workout i suggest you hit the treadmill or a stationary bike instead of a long rowing session

i would run or cycle to give your upper body a chance to rest rowing uses many upper body muscles with resistance, if you exersized heavy the day before your muscles need time to heal and grow, i love rowing but tend to use it as a ‘warm-up’ or ‘cool down’ exersize before/after weights, for cv i mostly cycle or run, swimming is good for toning and working miscellaneous muscles too.

It depends on what your goals are. If you are trying to build muscle or improve strength then you should rest those muscles for at least a day between exercise sessions. If your main goal is cardio, then you can go ahead and train up to six times a week. One day of complete rest per week is advisable for any workout program.
