As long as your songs are “tagged” with genre information you can create a Smart Playlist under the file menu where you can dictate that “punk” is excluded from syncing to your shuffle. Individual songs can be weeded out by also adding “if skipped more than once” rule in the smart Playlist or just unchecking the box next to the track.
