Can I earn certifiability for Law Enforcement or Jail Officer in Westerns Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Program?
Yes. Students have to apply and meet all of the prerequisites for program admission and successfully complete the program. All prospective student seeking law enforcement or jail officer certifiability are required to participate in an oral interview during the summer between their first and second year. All prospective students seeking law enforcement or jail officer certifiability are required to participate in ‘scenario testing/evaluation’ in the last several weeks of the spring semester in their second year. This testing/evaluation will be graded ‘pass/fail.’ Students seeking certifiability are required to pass these scenarios to earn certifiability. Our Associate degree program has incorporated the training requirements for law enforcement and jail officers in the degree program.
