Can I earn airline miles instead of Rewards points?

Members may choose to earn either points or miles, but not both for the same stay. You can switch from earning points to miles and vice versa before a stay by updating your membership profile or by contacting your local Guest Services office. You’ll begin earning the new points or miles with your next stay. Previous earnings will not be converted to the new currency. If you wish to “convert” points into miles, you can redeem your points for a mileage reward. (A “hotel stay” or “stay” means all consecutive nights a Marriott Rewards member registers, personally pays for, and stays at, any participating hotel. The room must be billed to the member.)
