Can i drive a chevy lumina with Power steering failure several miles to the mechanics?
That really depends on what part of the power steering system failed. If the pump failed then driving it can not do anymore damage to the pump. However, if it is only a leaking line, and you drive it a great distance, you may damage a good pump. With the vehicle running, observe the power steering pulley, if there is any wobble in the pulley, it is not recommended that you drive it, because the belt may come off resulting in loss of water pump circulation and the alternator’s battery charging functions.
