Answer Ken: If the stack unit had a 240volt outlet for the dryer, and a 120 volt outlet for the washer and there were 2 cords to plug in to make the old stack unit to work . Then yes you can plug the washer into the 120 volt. But if both the stack washer/dryer operated off of one cord then you will need to wright back and I can help you convert the 240v outlet to 120volt. Before you wright back if need be, Kill the power and remove the outlet, but leave the wire connected to it and count the nunmber of wires in the box 10/2,10/3, etc.,etc. and let me know the breaker size.
