Can I direct school tax dollars to a Catholic school board?
The province collects taxes for both the public and catholic school boards. The money is then distributed to each of these boards. In the County of Thorhild, there are two school boards. The Aspen View Regional Public School Board covers the entire County and the Lakeland Roman Catholic School Board covers only a portion of the County. When you purchase property within the Lakeland Roman Catholic School Division, you will be asked which school board you would like your tax dollars to go. 2. How do I subdivide my house off my quarter section? (sewers, approaches, setbacks, etc. are big problems) The current Land Use Bylaw states that a quarter of land can be subdivided into (2) 70 acre parcels with (2) 10 acre parcels (equaling 160 acres). The application form can be obtained from the County of Thorhild Administration office.
