Generally, the answer is no. The VisiConnect implementation released with BAS 4.5 was based on the Early Access Release of the J2EE™ Connector Architecture specification. Several changes were made to the specification between the Early Access Release and the FCS which render the Early Access Release RARs invalid. As the BAS 4.5 implementation was based on the Early Access Release spec, backwards compatibility for BAS 4.5 RARs was not permitted by the J2EE™ 1.3 specification. In addition, VisiConnect 1.0 FCS for BES requires an ra-borland.xml deployment descriptor which has a number of new features, which were not part of the Early Access Release. The solution is to upgrade your BAS 4.5 RARs to the J2EE™ Connector Architecture 1.0 FCS specification, fixing the RAR deployment descriptors using the DDEditor.
