Can I delete my ViaMichelin NavigationX-970 history file?
The ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 saves all previous destination locations in a History file. This file can accommodate up to 15 entries; with the most recent deleting the oldest. It is not possible to delete the whole file. The history file enables easy and efficient route calculation to any previous location saved in the section. From the Main Menu, simply click on Navigate / Destination / History file and select the address/destination of your choice.
I own a ViaMichelin X-950, To delete my History, I do the following:
1) Remove the SD Card from my SatNav,
2) Insert it into a Card Reader connected to my PC,
3) Locate a folder named: "VMNav_Maps",
4) Delete the file named "UK+Ireland.hty"
5) Safely remove the SD Card from the Card Reader,
6) Insert it back into my SatNav.
7) Switch the SatNav back on and I’m good to go.
This procedure may not work on all ViaMichelin SatNav’s but it does on my x-950, If you are worried about losing Data then back up your Card onto a Computer or Laptop first making sure Hidden & System files are enabled so when you Back up your Card, It will back up all files.
