Can I create a wireframe mesh using a 3D surface map?

Yes, you can create a wireframe mesh (similar to the 3D wireframe map) using a 3D surface map. To do this: • Use the Map | New | 3D Surface command to create the surface map. • Select the 3D Surface layer in the Object Manager. • In the Property Manager, go to the Mesh tab. • Check the check boxes next to Draw lines under Lines of Constant X and Lines of Constant Y. • Then go to the General tab. • Click the Upper button under the Material Color section, and click the Custom button at the bottom of the drop down list. • Select an Opacity value of 0% and click OK. The surface map has the slight advantage that you can choose the frequency of the mesh lines (you can select every other one, every 5th one, etc), you can set the limits of the map, and it does not show blanked areas. On the other hand, wireframe maps are vector images (not rasters), so they may be a little crisper.
