Yes. The CDF office has developed the Data Translation Web Service (DTWS) through which one can translate one or more local and/or remote files into other data formats interactively or in a batch mode. The DTWS service is available at http://translators.gsfc.nasa.gov. As for the translation from HDF4 to HDF5, the NCSA Hierarchical Data Format (HDF) office has developed a tool that converts a HDF4 file to HDF5, and this tool (h4toh5) is available from the HDF home page (http://hdf.ncsa.uiuc.edu/HDF5).
