Technically, you are still required to look for work in order to qualify for JSA. How you are treated will depend on the attitude of the person who interviews you at the job centre. I was in a similar situation to yourself a couple of years ago. I had accepted a job which did not start for another 5 weeks. Within that time I had to relocate to another part of the country. About 3 weeks prior to moving I had a good half hour debate (note: no congratulations on finding a job) with the both the JobCentre signing on monkey and later the manager of the abject pointlessness of me applying for a job the monkey found on her computer for me, despite me having absolutely no intention of working for the company they wanted me to apply to. It really was a situation where I would have had to hand in my notice with the job application. In the end the manager and myself found the job was unsuitable anyway, and by the time I had finished the job centre’s appointments were also running sufficiently lat
