Only faculty and graduate students with reserved study carrels can plug their network cables into active jacks provided in the carrels. At the present time, because of the slowness of these connections, wireless presents a better alternative, even in the carrels. Either way, the faculty/staff/student machine must be registered in NetReg and fully patched with up-to-date virus protection in order to connect with either a wired or a wireless connection. Wired connections are not provided to the public or to students except those graduate students who have reserved study carrels. Campus-wide wireless connections are offered to any faculty/staff/students with a UUID and PH password. Visitors without UUIDs and PH passwords may not connect to the Internet through either the wired or wireless University networks.
